I am sure the situation (covid-19) that is present with us today can be scary, overwhelming, and misunderstood. There are experiences in our lives that we may not understand while we are in it, but once over, we realize there was a lesson or a deeper meaning. At this time we need to try to not worry but be wise. Because we have faith does not mean to act unwisely. Follow all precautions that are given to us by the CDC. I am surely not saying that I know the meaning of this horrific situation, but I like to look at it in a different perspective. There have been messages circling around social media that expresses that this may be a wakeup call for us all to just slow down. I can agree with that idea. Since when have we all spent this much time in our homes with our families? Since when have we had time to really engage and interact with our children regarding their school lessons or even communicate with our partners? It is showing us what’s important.
I believe we should find the positive in this situation instead of focusing on the negative. We should renew our minds and filter our thoughts on a daily basis. I commend all the frontline healthcare professionals that are required to care for individuals infected with the virus. You all are truly angels and gifts from God. I may not be bedside with patients, however, I am still in contact with doctors and nurses who are caring for these patients. I am still at work every day during this crisis. But I will continue to do so and keep my faith. This too shall pass. Here are a couple of scriptures that have helped me stay positive and reduce my anxiety of the unknown.
“Greater is He That is in me than he that is in the world” -- 1 John 4:4
This scripture encourages me to live fearlessly. God has overcome and so shall we.
“For the Spirit of God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and a sound mind”—2 Timothy 1
In this crucial time, we need to show more love and support. We can get through this if we work together in love.
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” – John 14:27
I am not finding my peace through the surroundings around me. This situation sure isn’t giving me peace, however when I turn to the Lord, a sense of peace and calmness comes over me and I remember that He is always with me. He will protect me.
I hope this helps some of you feel better or redirect your attention to what really matters. I send my prayers to you all. Stay safe!
